About the facility

Our medical center operates as a not-for-profit acute care hospital. One of our continuing goals is to provide “Quality Healthcare Close to Home.” Our mission is “We Care.” Because we care, we offer a number of excellent benefits to members of our team.  We are accredited by the Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

We are committed to caring for our diverse communities by expanding care services and investing in the best technology to meet the needs of our patients and medical providers. Our central location allows us to provide services to the residents of five states including Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. Our population is about 23,000 people; however, our service area reaches approximately 91,000 people. Our vision is “to be the Medical Center of choice for Southwest Kansas and the surrounding region.”

About our community

Situated in the southwestern corner of Kansas, this town is the self-proclaimed home of Dorothy’s house from The Land of Oz.  Located on the crossroads of Highway 54 and Highway 83, they are a major trade center for Southwest Kansas and a five-state area. With a population of over 22,000, it continues to grow yet maintains a small hometown feel. The community boasts thriving tourism industries, history, culture, diverse activities, wide open spaces, and spectacular sunsets. It is a growing community that offers a variety of religious affiliations and many job networking opportunities through organizations like Young Professionals and Youth Entrepreneurs. Residents can enjoy watching their semi-pro baseball team, going down slides at the family water park, or spending an afternoon at the golf course. With more than 35 restaurants and access to major byways, this town is a wonderful place to call home.
