Job Description

Rural Physicians Group (RPG) is looking for a hospitalist to join our team at Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazelhurst, GA! We are looking for someone that is passionate about rural medicine, looking to make a difference in medically underserved communities and wants to enjoy a flexible schedule with more autonomy.

Start Date: June 3, 2026

Credentialing: 90-120 days

Schedule:7-10, 24-hour shifts/month. Daytime Hospitalist with overnight Tele-Noc subspecialty support, 10pm-6am EST.

Call:24/7 call coverage

Details: Critical Access Hospital

• ICU Beds: 4
• Acute Beds: 25 with occasional medical overflow on the LDRP Unit

Observation:

• Average Daily Census: 10
• Max Census: 23
• Average Daily Discharges: 1
• Avg LOS: 3.5
• Avg. Weekly Admissions: Avg of 40 ED admits per month/1-2 per day

Acuity: COPD, mixed to high acuity that sometimes require escalation of care when indicated

Subspecialty Support: General Surgery, MRI on Fridays and Mondays, Nuclear Medicine in house

EMR: Cerner

Vent Management

Active GA License or the ability to obtain

Independent Contractor (1099)

Malpractice Insurance Covered by RPG

Providers have private living accommodations that include a private bathroom with shower and an office space.

wRVU model:

- Base - $2,200/shift

-Travel - $100/shift

-Eligible for Prime Bonus...$100 extra per shift plus a $3K quarterly bonus for doctors who work consistently 10 shifts per month

wRVU Threshold –11 average over the quarter

wRVU payment - $33.12 for any wRVUs generated over 11
