University of Vermont Health includes:

• An academic medical center. University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont, anchors our health system. It provides the highest levels of specialized hospital care, serves as a regional referral center for people within and beyond our service area and is home to Vermont’s only Level 1 Trauma Care center.

• Two community hospitals. Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, New York, and Central Vermont Medical Center in Barre, Vermont, serve our communities with a range of locally based care and services, including preventive, specialty and acute care across all stages of life.

• Three critical access hospitals. Porter Medical Center in Middlebury, Vermont; Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, New York; and Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown, New York, help preserve access to emergency, primary and specialty services in these rural communities.

• A multispecialty medical group. University of Vermont Health Medical Group includes 1,300 physicians and 600 advanced practice providers, serving our communities across a wide range of specialties and clinical practice areas.

• A children’s hospital. University of Vermont Children’s Hospital is a ‘hospital without walls’ that extends throughout our health system. It offers child-friendly approaches to wellness and provides lifesaving and life-altering care for children with serious illness, injury or medical conditions. Vermont’s only pediatric intensive care unit is located at University of Vermont Medical Center, with additional pediatric services offered through specialty centers, clinics and emergency departments across our region.

• 154 outpatient care sites. We offer primary and specialty care, advanced diagnostics, rehabilitation and state-of-the-art treatments in community-based settings.

• A cancer center. University of Vermont Cancer Center is Vermont’s only nonprofit clinical and research cancer center, which consists of four local treatment sites: UVM Cancer Treatment Center in Burlington, Vermont; National Life Cancer Treatment Center in Berlin, Vermont; Reddy Cancer Treatment Center in Malone, New York; and FitzPatrick Cancer Treatment Center in Plattsburgh, New York. The University of Vermont Cancer Center brings together the expertise of more than 250 research and clinical members to care for patients and advance cancer science.

• Continuing care. We support patients beyond the hospital setting through home health and hospice services, four skilled nursing facilities and other care and service options in Vermont and northern New York.
