Val Verde Regional Medical Center has been part of Val Verde County since the 1950s.  It has a tradition of caring and of progressing along with medical advancements.  It is the primary medical care provider in the area and is a leading health care provider among rural hospitals in the state. Val Verde Regional Medical Center is an integral part of the community with 700+ employees.

Val Verde Regional Medical Center is a Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ).  Accredited 93-bed facility, level IV trauma center servicing the residents of Del Rio and surrounding communities.  VVRMC is especially important to residents of Del Rio and the surrounding area because the next closest tertiary medical center is approximately 150 miles away.

Val Verde Regional Medical Center provides all the services you would expect:
Surgery, in-patient care, physical and occupational therapy, hospice, respiratory therapy, women’s center, emergency department and radiology to name just a few.   However, there are some services you might not expect from a rural hospital:  Invasive Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, ER Express Care, high tech, state-of-the-art equipment, an Intensive Care Unit, permanent transport helicopter and Urological Services.  Val Verde Regional Medical Center provides our patients with the essential services they need to get well and stay well.

Our Community

Del Rio is a growing, and dynamic city in Southwest Texas. It is the county seat of Val Verde county. It is a community of over 40,000. It has a diverse economy that is also supported by several regional Federal government organizations and facilities. It is also home to Laughlin Air Force Base one of the largest and busiest training bases in the US and beautiful Lake Amistad.
