Baptist Health-Fort Smith was the first hospital built in Arkansas in 1887. It is currently a 492-bed medical center accredited by The Joint Commission. In addition to operating one of the busiest emergency departments in the state, the hospital offers providers who specialize in areas such as cardiology, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, interventional radiology and stroke care, orthopedics, general and trauma surgery, bariatric surgery, labor and delivery, pediatrics, and many more.
