The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University

The Brody School of Medicine has trained physicians for more than 50 years as the only allopathic medical school in North Carolina’s Atlantic Coastal Plain. The school’s mission is to increase the supply of primary care physicians to meet the state’s medical needs, especially in the east. It is consistently recognized as a Tier 1 institution for primary care and family medicine by U.S. News & World Report. Each year, Graduate Medical Education trains approximately 450 residents and fellows across three dozen programs. ECU Health Physicians, the employed provider group of ECU Health, is comprised of over 1,200 physicians and advanced practice providers across more than 120 locations in eastern North Carolina. The group provides the infrastructure and leadership needed to manage a modern medical practice, including processes for billing and collection, group contracting, electronic medical records and other technologies.
