About the Facility

At our County Hospital, our mission is to achieve excellence in rural healthcare in partnership with the communities we serve. Our community supported campus fosters an exemplary rural healthcare team that provides compassionate care for all. Our CAH is owned by the people of our county and governed by a five-member Board of Trustees appointed by the County Commissioners. The new hospital and rural health clinic opened on March 16, 2020. We have been recognized by Chartis as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital every year since 2021.

About our Community

We are located in the hills of North Central Kansas, just north of the American Geodetic Center and just south of the center of the United States, allowing us to boast we are the ‘center of attention.” Our community embraces the surrounding land made up of farming, ranching and other agriculture-related businesses.

Along with multiple opportunities for hunting and fishing, you can also get up close and personal at North 40 Alpacas, an Alpaca ranch where you can interact with Alpacas and shop for products made from the alpaca, such as blankets, coats, and hats.

We are home to local boutiques, an amazing farmer’s market, multiple restaurants, a coffeeshop and more. We invite you to visit our small but mighty community and experience the beauty of north central Kansas living.
