Who we are

We are a 25-bed critical access hospital and Level IV trauma center, and along with our attached Rural Medical Clinic, provides medical services for residents in our county and surrounding northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska communities. We have 130 dedicated and skilled employees to assist our medical providers in all levels of patient care, a full range of outpatient ancillary services and several visiting physician specialty clinics. Our mission is to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our region and provide an exceptional patient and staff experience to empower health and wellness at any stage of life.

Our community

We are located in a progressive community in Northwest Kansas with a population of 3,500. Located on Hwy 36, it is known for beautiful sunsets, amazing hunting and fishing, as well as first-rate lodging, family restaurants and a bustling downtown district. With a majority of its original downtown buildings restored or in process, many new and unique businesses have opened, including a gourmet kitchen store that also serves lunch, a coffee shop, quilt shop, multi-cultural restaurants and a cultural arts center.

An inviting community, you’ll find quality, comprehensive educational programs within our elementary, middle school and high schools, all of which are air conditioned. Our students are provided opportunities to engage in various activities, from Scholars Club and STUCO to athletics and STEM programs.

And for those who love the outdoors, the local Wildlife Area covers 6,500 acres and includes the Keith Sebelius Reservoir and Prairie Dog State Park, offering a variety of outdoor recreation including swimming, boating, fishing, camping, hunting, hiking, and wildlife or bird watching.
