St. Bernards Healthcare is a leading regional, nonprofit health system based in Jonesboro, Arkansas, committed to its mission of providing Christ-like healing to all in the communities we serve. Founded in 1900 by the Olivetan Benedictine Sisters, St. Bernards has grown from a six-room hospital into a comprehensive, integrated health system serving 23 counties across Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri.

At the center of the system is St. Bernards Medical Center, a 450+ bed acute care facility and the largest referral hospital in eastern Arkansas and southeastern Missouri. The Medical Center is home to a Level III Trauma Center, the region’s only NICU, and a full complement of advanced medical, surgical, and critical care services.

Clinical Scope & Advanced Services

St. Bernards offers a broad range of services including emergency medicine, heart and vascular care, cancer care, women’s and children’s services, surgical specialties, primary care, senior services, rehabilitation, and behavioral health. With more than 100 care locations and a strong outpatient and specialty clinic network, patients receive coordinated, high-quality care close to home.

As a true regional referral center, St. Bernards delivers high-acuity, tertiary-level care, including ECMO, LVAD implantation and management, and complex thrombectomy procedures, supported by experienced specialists, modern technology, and multidisciplinary care teams.

Growth & Facilities

Recent growth reflects St. Bernards’ long-term commitment to clinical excellence. A 245,000-square-foot surgical and intensive care tower recently opened on the Jonesboro campus, expanding operating room capacity, ICU beds, and advanced procedural capabilities to support continued growth and innovation.
